Parachuting Instructor Killed Following Plummeting Lacking Safety Gear in Music City

Federal aviation authorities is looking into the death of a skydiving instructor following he became separated from his student during a dive in Music City, TN.

Authorities say trainer the instructor "is presumed to have dropped from the sky without a parachute" during the jump on the weekend.

Fuller, 35 years old, appeared to have detached from his client and a tandem rig, which links the two during a jump and contains the parachute.

A law enforcement aircraft found the instructor's remains in a wooded area some time after. Local emergency crews utilized multiple pieces of equipment to reach the 46-year old student who survived the fall after being stuck on a tree branch for hours with the emergency parachute.

Police stated three other dives, which took place near a local airport, were successfully completed prior to the fatal fall. Aircraft from which they leaped also touched down without issue.

The cause remains unknown how the instructor, an experienced skydiver, became separated from the safety equipment.

A individual who helped rescue teams in the operation informed a local television station the client who authorities saved said "he was a first-time jumper, and it was going to be his last".

Mr Fuller had previously posted about his enthusiasm for instructing people how to parachute.

"Instructing individuals to parachute has always been in my view the most satisfying job at the jump site," Mr Fuller wrote in an Instagram post in June.

"Watching them learn the skills and begin maneuvering their bodies is always a heartwarming moment. Sometimes though, it can become quite chaotic up there when you release a student for their first time."

During that period he posted photos of the damage a jump aircraft he was on saying the plane's engine had failed after take off. Every individual aboard survived.
